Anchor 1

During the visit, we perform an inspection and provide you with a written performance evaluation. Your N.A.T.E certified technician will

 

  1. Check calibration, level, and functions of Thermostat.

  2. Measure Delta T. (temperature difference between the return and supply air across the evaporator coils).

  3. Clean Air Handler Cabinetry and check for infiltration.

  4. Check Indoor Disconnects are properly mounted, and high voltage wiring is clean and secure.

  5. Measure Step-Down Transformer and insure correct phases, volts, and a fuse has been installed to low voltage wiring circuit on 24v (R).

  6. Ensure Relays, Sequencers, and Blower Control Board are opening and closing at the proper intervals, and the correct Blower speed settings have been applied.

  7. Measure Emergency Heat Strip amperage, temperature rise, and ensure they are only operating when told to run (by the homeowner from Tstat, and during the defrost cycle for heat pumps).

  8. Measure Blower Motor amp draw.

  9. Measure Blower Capacitor in microfarads.

  10. Inspect Blower Wheel, directional spin, lock nut, and housing.

  11. Inspect Evaporator Coil condition and suggest appropriate measures (i.e, it may not be in the best interest of the homeowner to chemically treat a completely rusted out coil).

  12. Clean Evaporator Tray and Emergency Drain Pan.

  13. Clear Condensate Line with Compressed Nitrogen, and purge line with cleanser.

  14. Inspect proper operation of Safety Float Switches and wired correctly in series with 24v (R).

  15. Clean Washable Filter.

  16. Inspect proper operation of AirKnight and or other forms of Germicidal Protection.

  17. Ensure all Thermostat wiring is clean, secure, and properly insulated.

  18. Check Outdoor Disconnects are properly mounted and high voltage wiring is clean and secure.

  19. Inspect Contactor proper operation, closing when 24v (Y) is present, contacts are not pitted, free of corrosion, and allowing proper voltage to continue to motors, and discontinue when 24v (Y) is removed.

  20. Inspect Defrost Board and the proper sequence of operation of defrost mode (outdoor fan switches off, reversing valve and emergency heat strips are energized).

  21. Measure Capacitor in microfarads (usually a dual capacitor for condenser fan and compressor).

  22. Measure running amps for Condenser Fan Motor.

  23. Measure startup and running amps for Compressor.

  24. Measure Hard Start Kit (Start Assist Kit) for Compressor.

  25. Inspect all wiring of Compressor Terminal, Fan Motor, Reversing Valve Solenoid, Defrost Sensor, Low Pressure Switch, and High Pressure Switches.

  26. Measure Sub-Cooling method for TXV systems.

  27. Measure Super-Heat method for Piston systems, and while in heat mode for heat pump.

  28. Remove all debris from inside Condensing Unit.

  29. Wash Condenser Coils and Cabinetry.

  30. Wash Concrete Pad and ensure Condensing Unit is level.
